Job Description

We are now taking applications for our 2020 Apprenticeship Scheme!

We are looking to employ, train and mentor 6 apprentices for our Advanced Technical Apprenticeship scheme. By joining our apprenticeship scheme, you will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing in a variety of disciplines, acquring the skills, knowledge and competence to carry out a range of engineering and manufacturing processes within the cold rolling environment.

Positions available: 6

Working week: Mon-Thurs 8.30am-5pm, Fri 8.30am-4pm. 37.75hours per week.

Salary: £205.00 per week

Apprenticeship Duration: 4 years

Training to be provided:

  • Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham

  • NVQ Level 3

  • BTEC Diploma Level 3 – Technical Certificate

  • In house training in line with your requirements

  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities

  • Personal, learning and thinking skills award

  • Outward Bound – team working skills – 1 week away from home and work

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Gain relevant skills and job knowledge through the apprenticeship training scheme.
  • Achieve relevant training qualifications.
  • Attend regular training progress review meetings with Managers and Trainers.
  • Attend day release college courses to achieve relevant technical certificates relating to apprentice job role.
  • Record job reports for allocated placement and complete training checklists for future reference.
  • Promote good health and safety within every training placement.
  • Become capable in the use of a wide range of machine tools such as conventional and fully automated and state of the art machinery.

To be considered for the scheme you must have:

GCSE at Grade C / Level 4 or above in Maths, English Language and a Science subject. In addition you would also require a Design ,Technology, Engineering, or Creative related subject also at Grade C/ Level 4 or above.

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, it is the intention you will become a permanent employee of Hadley Group. We promote continuous personal development for everyone working at the Hadley Group and would therefore be supportive of candidates should they want to progress onto a HNC/Degree.

The company operate the following shift patterns:

  • 6.00am – 2.00pm
  • 8.30am - 5.00pm
  • 2.00pm – 10.00pm

Depending on your rotational placement and chosen pathway, you may be required to work some/ all of the above shift patterns during your apprenticeship which could be based across the Hadley Group sites (Smethwick, Oldbury & Wolverhampton).
